Feeding guidelines

Young chinchillas (under 1 year):

Feed free-choice (unlimited). Supplement daily with a combination of free-choice grass hay and alfalfa.

Adult chinchillas (over 1 year):

Feed 1/8 – 1/4 cup daily along with unlimited grass hay. Alfalfa hay should only be offered as an occasional treat.

Always provide fresh water. Grass hay should make up approximately 70% of your chinchilla's daily diet.
