We are happy to announce that Neighborhood Feed will be selling chicks in the store this year in the coming weeks. This will be the first time the current owners have hosted Chick Days, so please expect some hiccups as we work to provide the best possible environment for both the chicks and our customers.
The total number of chicks will be limited to make sure that we do not overstock chicks while we gauge demand. If you are considering getting chicks this year, we’d ask you to subscribe below to receive updates about our upcoming chick days, and this will also help us get an idea about the level of interest.

Are there a minimum or maximum number of chicks I can buy?
Yes, you must buy at least 4 chicks, and we are limiting the maximum to 15 chicks per household.
How much will the chicks cost?
The price will vary based on how expensive they are for us to acquire them. We expect they will mostly be in the $8 – 11 per chick range.
What types of chicks are you getting?
As a small store, we are at the mercy of the hatcheries for what chicks we can order. It will likely be different types of chicks each time. We will update this page with the available chicks whenever we have that information.
Are you doing female only or straight runs?
We are doing females only whenever possible, but depending on demand, we may do some straight runs if we aren’t able to source female only shipments. Even with female only, the hatcheries only guarantee about a 90% successful sexing rate, so there is a possibility of getting a rooster.
How many Chick Days are you going to have?
We’ll keep running them all season as long as there is demand! We’ve seen the overwhelming amount of interest in chickens this year, and we want to provide our customers what they’re looking for.
What is the current estimated arrival date of your first chicks?
Approximately March 21 – 23. If you join the mailing list, we will give you more frequent updates.
